Essential oils on the shelf won’t help.

Many of my yoga clients come to me asking for tips on ways to use their essential oils. I often hear, “I bought ‘X’ oil, but I didn’t know how to use it, so it just sat on my table collecting dust”. Don’t let this happen to you. Essential Oils are powerful botanical tools that can support your physical and emotional health and enhance feelings of well-being. Each month I will be highlighting a few of my favorite essential oils. I will share tips for ways to use these oils, and benefits of using these essential oils for you and your loved ones. If you have a specific essential oil you want me to highlight, please send me a message. I would be happy to put your favorite oil in the rotation as well. Essential oils will do you no good unless you open them up and use them. So I hope this will encourage you to start exploring with essential oils and discover the power of these wonderful botanical treasures.

Love is in the Air

Known as the “Queen of Oils”, dōTERRA’s Rose is one of the more rare essential oils. Due to the delicate bloom of the shrub, Rosa damascene, the labor-intensive production process takes more than 10,000 handpicked rose blossoms to produce one 5ml bottle. Because the petals are so delicate, the distillation process must happen the same day that the flower is harvested. From this labor comes an essential oil known for its sweet floral aroma, beautiful and romantic.

Rosa damascena, more commonly known as the Damask rose, is a small shrub with thorny stems. Originally from the Syrian capital Damascus, it is highly sought after for its many therapeutic properties. Diffuse Rose essential oil to uplift your spirits; the blooming floral fragrance brings about feelings of love, care, and comfort.

dōTERRA’s Rose oil is sought after for its powerful aroma and emotional benefits, Rose essential oil is the perfect gift during the gloomy winter months.

Cleaning just got a whole lot easier

Lemon is known for its purifying properties. Often used in cleaning products and air purifiers, Lemon has distinct cleansing and deodorizing characteristics that make it a popular choice for cleaning surfaces and purifying the air.

Need to spruce up your home this holiday? The cleansing and preserving qualities of Lemon make it the perfect oil for maintaining your furniture. By adding a few drops of Lemon essential oil to olive oil, you can create your own non-toxic furniture polish at home. When applied to furniture, Lemon essential oil leaves a clean shine, prevents fine wood finishes from drying out, and can replace lost moisture in antique woods as it penetrates worn finishes. When trying this polish on your own homemade furniture, always apply the polish in an inconspicuous spot before applying it to the entire piece. Essential Oil Royalty

This week we will be spotlighting the King of essential oils, Frankincense! Just as in its treasured past, Frankincense oil is highly valued in the doTERRA community and continues to be one of the most popular essential oils. In ancient times, Frankincense was used during religious ceremonies for salves for soothing skin and perfume. The perfume or aroma that Frankincense emits promotes feelings of satisfaction, peace, relaxation, and overall wellness, which explains its unique value in ancient times.

Feeling stressed?

Frankincense can help with that! The chemical components of Frankincense result in an extremely powerful aroma that can help to dispel negative feelings—like stress. If you are feeling like the pressures of life are weighing down your mood, apply Frankincense to the bottom of your feet. The soothing sensation and aroma will promote feelings of relaxation and a balanced mood
